Anne & Mike’s Sand Harbor Engagement Session – Lake Tahoe, NV

This past Saturday Christine and I went up to Lake Tahoe to photograph Anne and Mike’s engagement session. It was suppose to snow that day, but we lucked out with just cold temperatures. The session was photographed at the awesome Sand Harbor, on the East shore of Tahoe. I don’t’ think I could ever get sick of shooting there. Anne and Mike were champs in front of the camera and came away with some beautiful engagement photos. We also did a fun reenactment of Mike proposing to Anne, which was a riot

Allegra & Mike’s Elings Park – Hotel Mar Monte Wedding, Santa Barbara, CA

Allegra and Mike’s wedding was a super fun wedding to photograph for my first of the 2009 season. Allegra and Mike married at the wonderful Elings Park in Santa Barbara, Ca in front of their family and friends. Later everybody had a great dinner followed by some crazy dancing at Hotel Mar Monte. I had the pleasure of having Santa Barbara wedding photographer Tim Halberg second shoot with me. It was weird because the last time I saw Tim he was shooting my wedding. Congratulations Allegra and Mike!!!

Allegra & Mike’s Santa Barbara Engagement Photos

Here’s Allegra and Mike’s engagement session that I shot last Friday down in Santa Barbara, CA. I had not met Allegra or Mike until then, so it was great to get to know them before their wedding day. Which happened to be the next day. I always recommend the engagement session to my couples, so they can get comfortable in front of the camera and to my shooting style. PDN Top Knots 2009 Best of Category Winner!!!!!!!

Right before Christmas I found out that one of my images was selected as a finalist for PDN’s Top Knot wedding photography contest. This was such a great early Christmas present. I thought there was no way that I would even be a finalist because this photo contest has all the top wedding photographers entering it. I was just super happy because my photo was a finalist and was going to be published in PDN, which is the top photographers magazine in the U.S. or if not the world.

Yesterday I found out that my image of Anika getting zipped up in her wedding dress won the “Getting Ready” category of the contest. My jaw dropped to the ground when I saw this on my laptop!!! A BIG thanks goes out to PDN and the judges that award this photo the category winner and Anika and Luke for letting me photograph their wedding.
