I’m so stoked that winter is finally here!! Right now there is a big storm rolling into Northern California that’s going to dump at least a couple of feet of snow in the mountains!! I can’t wait to get back on the hill riding again for another great season. Here are some photos to get you into the winter mood from a trip I took last year down to Mammoth. Happy riding

During the first weekend in November we photographed Valerie and Blake’s engagement session up at Empire Mine in Grass Valley. It couldn’t have been a better fall day with the sun out and all the trees turning colors. Also I just love the light that we have during the fall months!! Empire Mine is such a cool place to photograph couples, especially Valerie and Blake. Valerie’s Dad actually lived at Empire Mine for a while as a little boy, when it was a working gold mine, which means her grandpa was one of the original miners there. It was nice to take their photos their with all of Valerie’s family history at the mine. Also Valerie and Blake are the lucky couple to book me for the super popular date of 9/10/11 for next year!!

The third and final portrait session on my trip was my cousin’s family in San Clemente. Every time I photograph them and the kids I have such a blast all day long!! The weather was super overcast that day with some light rain/drizzle mixed in, but we didn’t let that bother us. We started out in Old San Juan Capistrano at a playground and then walked the streets. After lunch we head back to San Clemente for some fun in front of the house. To end it all off the kids got to play in their Halloween costumes

The second portrait session that I photographed while down in So Cal was my cousin’s daughter Alia and the rest of the Thomas family. I had a fun time at my aunt and uncle’s house in Upland photographing everyone that afternoon. They have an amazing backyard so I just photographed the whole session there. Alia still gave me a run for my money this year with chasing her all around the yard trying to get photos of her!!
