We went to Florence for the second part of our Italy trip, which was amazing!! We got to ride the Euro Train from Rome to Florence, which was much better than flying. We kind of got to relax a little more in Florence, but we still ended up walking a ton everyday. One of the highlights of this part of the trip was having our own private driver for the day to take us out to the Tuscany countryside. Tuscany is such a beautiful place and I would love to go back there someday. We also got to see Michael Angelo’s “David” while in Florence. All I have to say is that it’s one huge statue. I didn’t think it was going to be that big. All in all Florence was more of a low key city compared to the hustle and bustle of Rome, which we liked!!
About to ride the Euro Train from Rome to Florence.

They had a horse race the day before in Siena, which only happens once a year and has been going on for ages. We were lucky enough to see the winning horse right before they walked him into his celebration parade.

I love how they painted the horse’s hoofs gold.
Love the expression on the face of the old lady.

Our cool Italian driver for the day. He drove us all over Tuscany taking us to small towns, wineries and sunflower fields. What a day!!

Our driver found us a sunflower field!!

The town of San Gimignano

The Italians are crazy about the Simpsons!! So I finally had to try some Duff Beer while in Florence.
The Tuscany region and Florence are home to auther of Pinocchio and Michael Angelo. So where ever you went you saw Pinocchio and fakes of Michael Angelo’s “David”

We were in Florence on the 4th of July and this American flag was the only thing we saw for the 4th. I was surprised that we even saw that flying outside a bar. My guess it was a trap to get Americans into the bar to drink.

Some photos of the real “David”. There are tons of fakes all around Florence.
A view of Florence.

The Piazza del Duomo

We saw this guy working on this painting over the three days we were in Florence. Then finally on the last night there he finished it.

Nothing says Italy like a couple of Gucci bags!!
