Right before Christmas I found out that one of my images was selected as a finalist for PDN’s Top Knot wedding photography contest. This was such a great early Christmas present. I thought there was no way that I would even be a finalist because this photo contest has all the top wedding photographers entering it. I was just super happy because my photo was a finalist and was going to be published in PDN, which is the top photographers magazine in the U.S. or if not the world.
Yesterday I found out that my image of Anika getting zipped up in her wedding dress won the “Getting Ready” category of the contest. My jaw dropped to the ground when I saw this on my laptop!!! A BIG thanks goes out to PDN and the judges that award this photo the category winner and Anika and Luke for letting me photograph their wedding. Holy cow – congratulations Doug!!! That is awesome and you deserve every bit of it.
