Grand Island Mansion Reception Pictures

Grand Island Mansion reception pictures of a groom and his groomsmen enjoy some champagne right after his wedding ceremony just inside the front doors of the mansion. It was a super hot summer day, so everyone headed indoors to cool down for a while waiting for the guest to leave the ceremony area.

The Grand Island Mansion is the crown jewel of wedding venues in the California Delta located near the charming town of Walnut Grove. Honestly, I think it’s one of the best wedding locations in all of the greater Sacramento area if you’re looking for more of an elegant and formal wedding ceremony and reception location. You can not beat this location when it comes to the wow factor of the estate grounds and everything around the property. The front pillars to the mansion are just massive and one of the many features of this wedding venue.

On your wedding day brides and grooms can get ready in some of the guest rooms located the mansion. If you’re not renting out those rooms for the day, you’ll be able to use a bridal suit located on the ground floor. Grooms and groomsmen can then get ready in the bar area, which has plenty of space and restrooms for getting dressed in. It’s really nice that they have options for couples who do not plan on renting out the rooms for the night. As a photographer I love it when brides and grooms can get ready at their wedding venue. It just makes the day run a lot smoother when this can happen.

Most wedding ceremonies take place on the front lawn of the mansion. There are two locations, one on the far right side and one on the far left side of the estate’s front lawn. The right side of the lawn ceremony area is a nice shaded garden area, which is a perfect location for those hot summer days. On the left side of the lawn is a raised like amphitheater area surround by huge greek style white stand alone columns where ceremonies can take place at. This area is out in the sun, so is suited better during the fall or spring months or even morning weddings. If the weather doesn’t cooperate on your big day the wedding ceremony can be held indoor or in the back wedding reception tent.

Receptions and events can be held indoors or outdoors. If you’re having a larger wedding your reception or event it will take place in an elegant reception tent behind the mansion, which can hold up to 400 guest. While smaller events have the option to have their reception, meal and dancing inside the mansion. The meals will take place on the main floor and the dancing and other events will be held downstairs. This venue is unique in that it can host ceremonies, receptions and events all year long unlike other locations in the great Sacramento area and Delta region.

The mansion and it’s property is a photographers playground with such massive grounds and a house to photograph inside and out. There’s the front of the mansion with it’s pillars, steps, fountains and tall cypress trees. Across the road are breathtaking views of the California Delta water ways and the Steamboat Slough. Behind the mansion are more fountains, a pool, tennis courts and a private pear orchard that’s a great back drop for pictures. Inside the mansion photo opportunities bound with vintage decorated rooms, hallways, and amazing lounge areas. This is always a plus during summer weddings when you can go inside and cool off while still taking pictures.
