Hidden Grove wedding venue is a small ranch style house located out on a country road surrounded by farm land near the city of Woodland California. This outdoor venue gives you that county and farm feel with all the beauty you could image. This location has tons to offer you during your special day with it’s beautiful gardens and courtyards. Hidden Gove is just a short 15 minute drive from Sacramento California.
The historic farm house will be the base for all your getting ready part of the day events and staging area during your special day. The house is big enough to be able to handle both sides of a big bridal party to get ready in. The back part of the house is the dedicated area for the groom and groomsmen to get ready at and relax before the start of the ceremony. The front part of the house is geared towards the bride and her bridesmaids with two giant rooms that are open to each other to create a massive getting ready area. One of these rooms has a bar area that is set up for your hair and makeup to take place at with a giant mirror that lines the wall. The other open room has giant windows that looks out towards the surrounding property and has a comfy couch for relaxing on. This room is usually where the bride slips into her wedding dress before the start of the ceremony. If for some reason this getting ready area is not up to your standards there are many hotels near by in Woodland and Sacramento for you to check out.
Ceremonies will take place on a lush green lawn adjacent to the house that is surrounded by gardens and trees. The ceremony area can be set up in two different directions the first one and most popular is facing west with the sun behind the couple during their nuptials. When the ceremony site is set up this way the couple will be standing under the shade of a near by tree and pergola. Usually during this set up the first couple of rows of guest will be in the shade too, which is nice during those hot summer days. The other ceremony site set up is having the couple standing on the east side of the lawn under an archway as their guest watch on with the sun behind their backs during afternoon ceremonies. The background views will be the giant oak trees and open field. Hidden Grove also accommodates elopements with up to 50 guests. These smaller ceremonies can be held in the near by garden area of the grounds besides the normal ceremony site.
When your ceremony is over and you’re finishing up family and bridal party photos your guest will be enjoying cocktail hour in the back area of the grounds by the bar hut and cocktail hour pergola. During this time your guest will be enjoying drinks and eating hors d’oeuvres from the catering company you choose to use on your special day. They’ll also be able to walk around the grounds and take in the sites of the surrounding garden areas.
When you’re finished with all your bridal party and formal family portraits you’ll be able to explore the grounds at Hidden Grove with your wedding photographer to capture your couples portraits. There are many locations to pick from when it comes to having your couples portraits taken around the grounds. The first one and most popular is the dirt road that leads up to the venue that is lined by 150 year old olive trees. This road offers some amazing photo spots along the path during the late afternoon as the light shines through the trees behind you. Another popular location for photos is the garden area next to the ceremony site. There are many great spots in this garden which has amazing afternoon light that shines through the trees and bushes as you walk along the garden pathways. One of the nice thing about these first two locations is that you’re away from all your guest which gives the two of you sometime to decompress and relax without all their eyes watching you. The ranch house is also a fanatics spot for portraits. There’s a cute little front porch and stairs that are so perfect for couples photos. You also have the option to head indoors to cool off and have some pictures captured in the great front room, which also has the most stunning window light. Over on the other side of the house is small vineyard area that is set up prefect for sunset portraits. Besides all these areas that I mentioned you’re also able to go out in the field area and explore behind the house, which is great during sunset time.
When your portrait session wraps up and cocktail hour is coming to an end your reception events and dinner service will be taking place outside on the great lawn next to the farm house and bar area. This lawn area is large enough to host 180 guest during your reception part of the day. Tables are spaced out evenly all of over the lawn for dinner and speeches. When your meal service and speeches come to an end the party will move on over towards the bar area, which has a concert dance floor all set up. This dance floor is where your first dance and other special dances in front of all your friends and family members will take place at. After your special dances open dancing will take place for the rest of the night at this dance floor area. Your guests are more than welcome to dance the night away or go back over the reception area and catch up with their friends or family members.
