Old St. Mary’s Chapel is located in the Northern California city of Rocklin. The chapel was built in 1883 as a Catholic Church. It was used by the Catholic church for over 100 years until they moved onto another location in the area. This historic chapel was set to be destroyed in 2004 until the Rocklin Historical Society stepped in and saved the famous white chapel from it’s demise. In 2005 the chapel was moved down the street to it’s current location. After two years of hard work and restoration by all the local volunteers it was finished to it’s current state as you see today. In 2007 the first wedding took place inside the refurbished white chapel and can be enjoyed by others for their ceremonies. Old St. Mary’s Chapel is the oldest standing building in the city of Rocklin.
The getting ready part of your wedding day can take place at Old St. Mary’s Chapel, but the space if very limited. There is a staging area in the back of the chapel and this is where the bride and her bridesmaids have access to before the start of the ceremony. Most brides show up to chapel with having all of their hair and make up finished and just use this room to get into their dresses before having their photos taken or the start of their ceremony. Grooms and groomsmen will have access to the Firehouse building, which is located adjacent to the chapel next to the restrooms out in the public park. Again the space is not that big, but still big enough for the guys to get dressed in and hang out before the start of events on a wedding day. If the space doesn’t fit your getting ready needs there are plenty of local hotels and Airbnb in the area that you can use for this part of the day.
