Twenty Mile House Wedding

Twenty Mile House is a serene mountain wedding venue located on 200 private forested acres in the Sierra Nevada Mountains just north of Lake Tahoe and Truckee California. The Twenty Mile House is a historic stagecoach stop and trading post that was built in 1854 along the middle fork of the Feather River in the town of Cromberg California. Needless to say this event center has some amazing history behind the buildings and locations. This wedding venue is a dream spot for any newly engaged couple looking for a private mountain setting for their big day. This secluded and breathtaking location is one of the main reason couples book this venue to host their wedding day.

When the getting ready process starts on your wedding day you’ll be able to get ready in the bridal suite, which is located right next to the wooded ceremony site. This a very convenient location, as you will step outside and start your walk down the aisle to get married. The bridal suite is a large stand alone building that allows many bridal party members to get ready in. The Twenty Mile House has onsite accommodations that allows from any of these lodgings to be turned into a getting ready location. If you’re a bride, the bridal suite is the best location for this part of the day. The onsite accommodations is nice to have for close family members and friends to stay in and not have to worry about traveling on your wedding day.

When it’s time to tie the knot your guest and you will head to one of the ceremony sites that is located on this massive property. The first ceremony location and most popular is located in a tall pine tree forest located next to the train tracks and bridal suite. This area is purely stunning and is the largest area to hold your ceremony at. The forested location is also popular spot during the warm summer months, since this area is always in the shade and will give your guest and you an escape from the heat. The second location for wedding ceremonies to take place at this venue is on the lush grass lawn of the Main House. If you’re wanting that classic old time feel to your wedding day than this ceremony spot is for you. The Main House will be the backdrop to your ceremony as you get married. The third and final spot is the River Front wedding ceremony area. If you’re wanting the Feather River and tall forested canyon walls as a ceremony backdrop than this location is for you. Though this area is geared towards a smaller guest count, it’s truly the most spectacular location at Twenty Mile House. The nice thing about having options on where to host your nuptials is you won’t end up with a cookie cutter wedding that most couples have at other venues. No matter what size your wedding is you’ll have plenty of options for your ceremony at this Sierra Nevada Mountain wedding venue.

After you walk back down the aisle as a married couple and start taking those formal family portraits your guest will head over to the Main House and General Store for the cocktail hour and hors d’oeuvres part of your wedding reception. Once you’re finished with all your family and bridal party portraits you’ll be able to explore this massive estate with your Twenty Mile House wedding photographer. There are so many locations to choose from that it will make your head spin. It’s a good idea to plan out where you would like these photos taken at weeks ahead of your big day with your photographer. This will help you save on time and then you’ll know exactly where to go to get those amazing photos that you’ve dreamt of while planning your big day. One of the more popular spots is taking photos by or on the train tracks, which are right next to the ceremony site and main house. The other area, which is nice for pictures is just on the other side of the tracks in the forested area, which has an old run down shack that is a great backdrop. There is also an open meadow over there along with a nice tall pine tree forest, which has that great late afternoon light coming through the trees. When you venture a little further on down the path you’ll end up at the Feather River. The river is also a great location for wedding photographs. The Main House is another classic spot for photos. There are many other locations that are hidden in the woods and around the grounds which make for some great photo opportunities. The setting of this venue is one of the many reasons why couples book this event center for their wedding day.

When you’re done with portraits you’ll head back to the Main House and General Store to finish up cocktail hour with your guest and start your reception events for the night. Your guest and you will enjoy cocktail hour over by the General Store where the bar and hors d’oeuvres will be set up at. From there guest will be able to mingle and walk around the beautifully manicured grounds of the Main House. Your dinner and speeches will take place on the front lawn of the Main House. This area is a great spot for dinner and is in the shade most of the year during this time of day, which a plus during those summer months. When your speeches and dinner are done you’ll head right over to the open air dance floor for your special dance and open dance party. This area is located right between the Main House and General store. The close proximity of these locations makes the reception part of the wedding day at the Twenty Mile House flow smoothly with little to no hiccups. This area also looks amazing at night with all the stringed twinkle lights between the trees that give the grounds that fairytale feeling. Your guest and you will be able to enjoy the rest of the night dancing and enjoying the evening mingling with friends at this magical Sierra Nevada Mountains wedding venue.

It you’re interested in getting married in the woods at one of the top all inclusive wedding venues in Northern California you should contact this venue for a site tour. I’m sure you will not be disappointed when you see this location with your own eyes.

Here are my top there reason you should host your wedding at the Twenty Mile House.

  1. My number one reason you should host your wedding here is the pure natural beauty of this venue. This venue has it all in the nature department. It has forest, meadows, streams and a river. This setting is a sight to be seen.
  2. My second reason why you should tie the knot here is the seclusion and all inclusive wedding site. This means that you’re going to be the only wedding taking place that day unlike some other venues that can host up to two or more weddings a day. The seclusion part of this wedding venue is located on private property, which means you’ll not have unwanted guest wandering around your wedding unlike other Tahoe venues.
  3. The third reason you should hold your special day here is the customer service that you’ll receive when you book your wedding event here. The staff is beyond capable to running an event with no mistakes and helping you out to create a perfect wedding day.

This is just a short list of reasons on why you should host your wedding day here. If you’re looking for an amazing venue that is off the beaten path in the greater Tahoe area then please call them and take a site visit as soon as you can. There’s a reason this venue gets booked out year after year.
